About

Toward hope is my personal web space where I try to integrate faith and life. I believe Ahrindati Roy when she says “‎Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day I can hear her breathing.”

I am first a Christian, then a photographer and hack theologian in equal measure. As a Christian, following Jesus is the greatest priority for me, as I believe it is the way of love that teaches us to love most appropriately. As a photographer, I strive to capture the best in people and tell their story. You can check out my work John Santic Photography. As a hack theologian, I am compelled to reflect on the work of God in all things. I liken myself here to a detective and journalist seeking to report on the greatest story ever told and that I find myself in the middle of.

One of the ways I’ve tried to live out the story is by starting an initiative called Thirty for Ten. I sell my artwork and photography services online and allow other artists to sell their prints with 30% of the cost going to the buyer’s charity of choice. This is our way of including a less fortunate third party into our economics and living into God’s future emerging.

Jesus promises by the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth and my desire is to discover God’s truth in the daily experiences of my life. I am lured by the dream of God’s Kingdom coming and I want to see and remember its emergence in my life.

I encourage you to leave comments on the content and perhaps we can all learn from the conversation and find ourselves a little further along the road toward hope.
